Middle school is a transformative time in a student’s life, and at Dawson School, we are dedicated to making these years meaningful, enriching, and full of growth. Our Middle School program is designed to prepare students for the academic rigor of high school while fostering the skills, confidence, and character they need to become positive contributors to the world.

  • Leadership & Self-Advocacy: Through activities like our on-site ropes course and public presentations, students build confidence and leadership skills.

  • Experiential Learning: Fall trips, Winterim, and community service projects integrate life skills, character development, and teamwork.

  • Annual Traditions: From Dawson Fest to the Halloween haunted house, students create lasting memories and build a strong sense of community.

Academic Excellence and Innovation


Our Middle School curriculum is both challenging and engaging, with courses in art, English, math, science, social studies, and world languages. Small class sizes (average of 15 students) ensure personalized attention, while daily advisory classes and brain breaks support students’ social-emotional well-being.

Technology is seamlessly integrated into learning. Each student receives a MacBook Air equipped with tools for creativity, collaboration, and innovation. Our Innovation and Technology curriculum includes:

  • Programming: Coding in multiple languages to build apps, games, and web pages.

  • Engineering & Design: 3D modeling, prototyping, and robotics.

  • Digital Media: Photography, video production, and audio design.
